I guess I'm off in the weeds trying to make the
93AA86 (serial eeprom) disappear from the circuit.
my code is basicly 16 identical processes, each interpreting
a simple byte stream (don't panic, they don't have to
go very fast).

To avoid re-engineering the whole thing, I think
I'll leave the 95AA86 and move to one of the 16C???
series.
