Hi, We have a test jig used to program small circuit boards that use a 16C57. We are having trouble with the test jig because it is starting to fall to bits. PICs are being corrupted etc. The guy that made it has left and the documentation is thin. My boss is impatient and understandably so because there are 1000s more boards on the way to be programmed. Currently the test jig is based on a 68HC11, using multitasking operating system, it is a pain to learn and maintain, and depending how much work it is to do it with a PIC, we may just keep repairing it. We are thinking of replacing it with a PIC16C87X based system, done in MPLAB assembler. * Is there some very well written MPLAB assembler code library for programming PICs using PICs? It needs to RUN on a 16C87X, and PROGRAM a 16C57. * How do I use the ICD pins, are the tools any good? * Microchip is doing die shrinks, which already broke our 93LC46B code. What problems can we expect when they shrink the 16C57? * When are the 18CXX coming out? Thanks, David.
