I have experienced the same problem first time I tried to send something to the list. Well, the second time also ;) Then I went to the PICLIST ARCHIVE (http://www.iversoft.com/piclist) and tried to find my post. Guess what? IT WAS THERE!!! The only thing that comes to mind is that the mail server DOESN'T send you ("the sender") a copy of YOUR message, which IMHO, makes sense. BTW, I'm not sure (it was a long time ago when I joined ;) whether new participants (or if I may say PICLISTERS), receive an "Rules of The List" or whatever document that will teach her/him how to use and enjoy the best of it? If so, forget the rest... Some suggestions for new PICLISTERS (and for old ones too - I'll read it from time to time, I promise ;) : 1. PLEASE, DO NOT BY ANY MEANS INCLUDE ENTIRE ORIGINAL MESSAGE IN YOUR REPLY. - Sometimes an thread gets too long and no one wants to read (worse: download) the same message more than once. If one joins the thread later, she/he can always track the original in the ARCHIVE. This is what an ARCHIVE serves for. 2. PLEASE, DO PUT THE (MEANINGFUL) SUBJECT OF YOUR MESSAGE IN THE SUBJECT LINE. - When someone receives 100+ messages per day (not including personal mail), it is VERY difficult to separate the messages with subject like: "Question", "Help, please", "Wanting" or even empty subject line from those with interesting subject. There are people that do not now about or are not interested in ie. "sun burn sensor with I2C communication protocol". So, why not help people to avoid these messages and save some time? Please, try to understand that reading 100+ messages takes at least 1 hour (o.k., I'm a slow reader ;) And this is without examining links... 3 (but somehow related to 2.). PLEASE, CHANGE THE SUBJECT OF THE MESSAGE IF THE DISCUSSION TAKES ANOTHER TURN. - Messages with subject ie. "Re: PIC in boat models" can end up talking about the best rivers and lakes to go fishing. Please, avoid that. Excuse me for taking the liberty to speak for others, but I hope that there are many people thinking the same way. Am I correct? I didn't want, by any means, to insult anyone. Those thoughts are purely the result of MY frustration over trying to cope with tons of messages a day among which I find 10%-20% interesting and 1%-2% of "hot stuff". There is a saying that "Every book is worth every penny you pay for it if you find at list one good, usable thing in it." PICLIST is more than a book and it's free. In fact, it's a library. It's meant for those having problems and those having solutions. Let's not make it harder for them to help each oder.
