Thanks - glad people are willing to help somebody new on the list.
sure seems a helpful, friendly place.

dern - this may force me to rethink the whole scheme.
This gizmo originally was programmed through the parallel port,
but it's a sound module thingy, so I got the bright idea of
using one channel of the stereo for the control signal.
For the end user, this was easy - plug one cable into the sound
card out and go.

Anybody have a good idea for an alternate 'simple modem' I can
push info through an audio channel with?
