One nice thing about these first 18Cxxx parts is that they are pin-for-pin, instruction-for-instruction drop-in upgrades for 16c7x type products that are running out of "horsepower" in terms of RAM and ROM. Of course, you can also take advantage of the new features by optimizing your code.
