Not for a PIC, for Altera's new software and APEX devices ( I think?) are
supposed to be able to set testpoints within the silicon and capture based
on a trigger point preset when the part was intially loaded.  Then dump down
via JTAG to a PC and take a look at it.  Sort of like simulation, but in
real time (at least realtime capture).
