Various users have reported problems with the CCS compiler on this list.  I
have owned it for a short time and given it limited usage. Can't really
comment on it's quality yet. The reasons I bought it :

Supports a wide range of PICs
Larger library than any freeware c compiler I found
Could not afford an industrial strength compiler
