All of this discussion on polarity problems...  please, somebody correct me
if I'm wrong, but why can't you just connect the power input terminals to
the AC side of a bridge rectifier and the circuit to the DC side?  That
would enable you to connect power in any direction without problem, right?
What would the voltage drop be across a standard BR?
