I want to store data for > later retrieval by a PC. We build dataloggers, and our current product uses I2C interfaced EEPROM. MicroChip makes some, as do Atmel, Xicor, and maybe ST Microelectronics. Some are EE, some are Flash. Watch out for the endurance specs, and make sure your applicaiton is smart about how many re-writes it does, how often. If you want removable cards, look at SanDisk's MultiMedia Cards, or ISSI's SerialFlash, or MediaStick. There's another new one that's used on complex cell phones, too... Many of the datalogger boxes that have come out lately use battery or supercap backed SRAM, 'cause its so cheap per bit.
