Hello Paul,

the secret is the knowledge of the LFSR code, if you can produce it you can
run an autocorrelation process over your raw received data, and then due to
the higher frequency of the LFSR code the slower user data can be
recovered. You only have to synchronize once, so your autocorrelation gives
a value near 1 otherwise it is very nearly zero. See some GPS application
or schematic description for details of such coding and decoding.
