Tom,

Following on from the switch reg thread of the past few days, most
of the chip manufactures (National, SGS, maxim ...) all do step up
switching regs. I have just downloaded a bunch of datasheets from
National's site at www.national.com, but you could also check out
www.st.com (SGS), or www.maxim.com. All of these guys have online
datasheets, with application notes. There are a number of DC to DC
converter 'modules' on the market too that may well fit the bill.
