According to Microchips line card the PIC16F628 is a CURRENT product, does
anyone know where all the info/datasheets on these can be found or if they
are just vaporware.  I don't seem to be able to find anything but
publicity releases about these on microchips website.

The feature list is pretty impressive:
2048x14 Flash/128 EEPROM/224 RAM/Brown-Out/USART/PWM and 4MHz Internal
Oscillator

It fills all the requirements for a project I am working on except for
the 8-bit A/D requirement, but a serial A/D from maxim is fine with me if
i can get the USART/Internal Oscillator and EEPROM in 1 18-pin package
