I'm seriously considering implementing the SLIP protocol in order to generate UDP packets for a Linux box from a 16F84. Has anyone done this yet who would be able to share some code? I have previously implemented SLIP (UDP rx, IP tx/rx, ICMP echo) in FORTH on a Tandy 102 80C85 32k. I had thought of using PPP, but I can't imagine all that protocol negotiation at the start of the connection is worth the effort. SLIP is very simple by comparison; just the IP packet encapsulated in a simple escape protocol. -- James Cameron (quozl@us.netrek.org) Linux, Firewalls, OpenVMS, Software Engineering, CGI, HTTP, X, C, FORTH, COBOL, BASIC, DCL, csh, bash, ksh, sh, Electronics, Microcontrollers, Disability Engineering, Netrek, Bicycles, Pedant, Farming, Home Control, Remote Area Power, Greek Scholar, Tenor Vocalist, Church Sound, Husband.
