Haven't done this yet, all those IR modules do is output the same pulse train reliably for each IR code you send them - so worst case, get out the remote control you want to use, get an IR receiver module, and look at the output with an oscilloscope/Logic Analyser/???, teach the PIC how to recognize each pulse train reliably.
