PIC microcontrollers are now publicly available under the terms of the FSF
General Public License from my web site:

If you have any interest in this, I'd suggest getting a copy while the
getting is good.  There is no telling how long conditions will favor free
distribution of this material.

Potential commercial users should note that the GPL does not prohibit
commercial use of this code.  However, many companies find the GPL's
requirement to distribute source code of anything linked to GPL'd code
to be onerous.  If you want to use this code commercially without being
bound to the GPL terms, contact me to negotiate a different license.
