Hi All,

Sorry for bringing this question up, it must have been discussed
earlier about a zillion times. But here it is.
I'm looking for a PIC production programmer. Currently I'm thinking
about the ProMate 2 from Microchip. But aren't there better options
for about the same price (approx. $800) on the market?

I mostly program PIC16C7xx stuff, but I would also like to program
EEPROMs and the manufacturer of the programmer must also stay up to
date with the latest PIC devices and supply the required software
updates. Furthermore I want the programmer to be suitable to do in
circuit programming with some kind of an adapter.

BTW, what is the cheapest way to do gang programming with PICs?

Thanks for your time.

Bye,

Daniel...
