Hi - Sorry but the MOC3023 and the rest of its family don't syncronise with the mains. They are "just" opto-triacs. (are ther others that do?) But you can proberly use them anyway: a. Ignore the syncronisation (you won't "start/stop" that often) b. use an input on the pic conntet to the mains (thru another opto?) c. use a daming coil. (if space is no problem). I have not tryed any myself... /holger > ---------- > From: Seyler Jean-Yves[SMTP:Jean-Yves.Seyler@CNES.FR] > Sent: Tuesday, May 04, 1999 9:57 AM > To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU > Subject: Re: TRIACS FIRING > > Use a MOC xxx device. > I can't remember the exact reference : it is a opto-triac (DIL 6 pins) > synchronized with the main: > -> That makes a perfect isolation from the main and not much EMC since > it opens and close when the main go to 0 volt. > > Hope this helps > > Jean-Yves > > >---------- > >De : WILLIE W.
