Wagner, I saw this when it came out as well. I found it really disspointing because the MCU figures included DSPs. TI's sales figures of B$1.9 would of course be mostly DSPs, which I certainly don't think of as a traditional MCU. I would be quite surprised to learn that the TMS320 line, for example competes directly with PICs, AVRs and MC68HC05/08/11/16. It would be extremely interesting to see figures with DSPs taken out... --Bob On Sun, May 02, 1999 at 10:36:14AM -0400, Wagner Lipnharski wrote: > As I promissed, it is on EBN Magazine, March 29, 1999, page E37: > > 1998 Sales Rank > > MCU (Microcontrollers) > --------------------- > 1 Motorola M$ 1,955 > 2 Texas M$ 1,875 > 3 Hitachi M$ 1,535 > 4 NEC M$ 1,045 > 5 Lucent M$ 983 > 6 Intel M$ 850 > 7 Mitsubishi M$ 655 > 8 Philips M$ 554 > 9 STM M$ 455 > 10 Siemens M$ 388 -- ============================================================ Bob Drzyzgula It's not a problem bob@drzyzgula.org until something bad happens ============================================================
