Just like you, I was using Z80 from 1980 till 1994 for all my projects and still have some attachment to it. Somehow I could not switch to Z8. In 1994 I switched to PIC and am still with it now. Any day if I have to choose a processor for my projects, I would stick to Z80 if nothing equivalent comes from Microchip.
