I always thought "CE" means: has EEPROM You may want to check this at the Microchip-Homepage. At the Homepage you'll find a 1999 second quarter product linecard. You will find all available products listed ( and their differences ). Hop this helps ... Ok, I took a look to this document. A possible cause for programs don't run on JW-type parts but run on not JW-type devices and vice versa are often uninitialized variables or "assumed" reset values. the JW device behaves different because of the light hitting the chip throug the window. Try to run your JW device with sticker at the window - something realy solid, because already black insulation tape will let infra-red light going through.
