Am I the only one reading this list who thinks the piclist is turning into a Usenet newsgroup? Last week it was Muslims, now it is americans who have never been to asia and seen 'ugly americans' first-hand or heard of the book or even seen the Marlon Brando & Kukrit Pramot film. Interesting stuff but NOT on the piclist. I get the digest. More & more over the last 2 months I am doing PgDn about 2/sec. I am getting sick of it. I favour the list being moderated. I do not apologise for suggesting it. Opinions? >Subject: Re: [OT] 'K' vs 'k' >MIME-Version: 1.0 >Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii >Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit > >I wonder why the pejorative "ugly American" came into popular >usage?
