        Note that even if the space is there to install some form of back
light, it won't always work. Some LCD displays have a trans-reflective
coating on the back so that light from the back light can get through.
However, there are also totaly reflective coating's that will not allow any
light from the back light through.  I learnt the hard way <g>.
