generally, an emulator is a device which looks to the circuit just like a
normal chip, but has a "back door" from where you can control it and get
the internal information (in various degrees of usability and comfort). and
a simulator is usually a program which simulates your device in software
only, pure "virtual." i don't know the simice, but it seems it is some sort
of emulator in the sense it's actual hardware, but not full-blown, ie.
somebody said it doesn't run at full speed.
