Well, I have finally come upon a project that seems more suitable for writing in C, rather than assembler where all my past experience has been. Since there seem to be plenty of C gurus on the list, I'd like to ask for advice on the best way to make the change. Should I just start using MPLAB-C? Does anyone think there is a better compiler/simulator package that is not user-hostile to a C-beginner such as myself? What have your experiences been? Oh BTW, do PIC C compilers manage page & bank switching by themselves, or are we still blessed with the "privilege" of manual memory management no matter what the platform is? Let me know...
