Gates seems to be cranking out an astounding two or three issues per year. Local bookstores around here still have the same issue on the shelf that I bought maybe three months ago. In that issue he spent a lot of time talking about trying to find some way to automate the ink valve adjustments on his press; one disturbing thing was that he was only able to guess at the thread on the valve adjustment screws. I suppose that it is possible that he tried some idea of his and the whole thing fell apart. He also seemed to be spending a lot of time preparing for the post-millennium disaster, probably filling the bomb shelter with canned food and bottled water, oiling the windmills and all. So he could just be distracted with that.
