Speaking of the 12C672, I was looking at the specs on those this morning and thought that they would be good as a front end on some of my sensors. But I couldn't figure out from the data sheet and other stuff on the Microchip website: How does one program them? I have a Pro Mate II with a variety of sockets, but I didn't see a socket listed for the 12C672, except maybe the ICSP adapter, even though the 12C672 data sheet mentions it (the Pro Mate II) under the (apparantly boilerplate) Development Tools section. The latest firmware upgrade for the PICstart Plus lists 12C672 support, but I don't have a PICstart Plus, and I'd rather not, what with having the Pro Mate II and all. And, speaking of firmware upgrades, my Pro Mate II keeps whining about a firmware update being available, but I didn't immediately find one on Microchip's website; all I found were some DOS command line things for the Pro Mate. Am I just failing the smart browsing test? Does anyone have a URL for this?
