If I may interject into the OT digression from the OT topic....;) I am amused at the DP assumption inherent in continuing the server/client architecture as the PRIMARY MODE of the internet. If you think about it, it really is laughable, that anyone would consider it to be a VIABLE GLOBAL network strategy. I have suggested a MUCH BETTER architecture called the "THIRD PARTY" architecture, based on the assumption of the role of the internet, as encouraging CONNECTIONS rather than as the primary storage/Processing concept. In this architecture, the INTERNET is merely the index to, and support for, LOCAL INFORMATION SOURCES, and brokers the information between them so that for instance, if one server is down, that does not preclude access to the information. It was all part of my Mvud Wump proposal that never saw the light of day.... Essentially, what I think is that the INTERNET needs some SOCIAL ORGANIZATION rather than "CENTRALIZATION" If the CENTRAL ORGANIZERS took a "ZONED PLANNING" approach to information management, rather than trying to capture all the data, I think it would work MUCH better. But then, I have been safely marginalized, so feel free to ignor me (at your peril ;)) GREY GRAEME SMITH email: grysmith@freenet.edmonton.ab.ca YMCA Edmonton Address has changed with little warning!
