Hello Glenville, Vtech is an enterprise rather active in Germany. A colleague of mine has a daughter who put something heavy on her Vtech model and broke the LCD, but it has 4 lines. We called the company, and they agreed to repait it for about 60 Dollars' worth, which is about a fourth of the original price, extra equipment not looked at. But they will not give out any loose parts, or part with information about their LCD modules. It ia very much as you described: The PCB has 2 globs on back, and only a six- or seven-digit-number on the back, and none of the usual chips by Hitachi or al. Their address is: VTECH Electronics GmbH Martinstr. 5 70794 Filderstadt 0711/70974-0 (inside Germany) (BTW, as usual, I have no financial or otherwise interest in the above mentioned company...) Greetings, Jochen DH6FAZ jf@detektor.de
