Hi, I'm very new at this but I'm excited to make my first contribution. I've recently had a similar problem with a 16C84. The Code Protection bit was inadvertantly set by an errant power supply. It spiked to about 12VDC when I powered it up. All worked fine until I erased and reprogrammed ( or at least tried to ).
