Here in the US the heating duct installers use a metal foil version of duct tape. It is much thinner and definately opaque. Not the cheapest stuff on earth, but one roll should last a lifetime (and it can be embossed with a ball point pen). Also there is a chrome tape used to decorate automobiles that is available in those auto parts places that sell fuzzy dice and goofy hubcaps. It is a thin strip of stainless steel (312 or 306 I'd imagine) with an adhesive backing. Again, one roll is a lifetime supply but it really doesn't emboss like the metalic duct tape.
