I have done a fair amount of work recently on IR. Some sites where I
found information related to IR protocols and manufacturers codes are list
at the end of this Email. Note, not all the documents found at these sites
are 100% accurate, but after you read a fair number of them you will be able
to figure out which are accurate and which are not.
I have wrote some code for a 16F84 that will decode a Sony TV remote
control, this was done with about 110 words of code. I also wrote some code
for a IR transmitter using a 12C509. The transmitter simply uses a 12C509,
IR led, and one resistor. This is the only parts required, other than a
power source which could be a battery or something else. The Transmitter
simulates a 40Khz signal in software.
If any one is interested in the Source code and Circuit diagram please
Email me directly and I will try to help.
