>>> Has anybody used this IC4s or similar for GPS, any hints would help !! >> as long as it has a standard NMEA output then I don't see why you >> couldn't, since you can read it using a standard serial port... > ?Where can I find NMEA information? NMEA is National Marine Electronics Association (or similar). See http://www.nmea.org. They got into this due to involvement with the interfaces to navigation equipment. They appear to be located in New Bern, North Carolina, USA. As far as I know, NMEA standards are for sale _only_ as printed materials. They do not publish them on their web site. They do have a prominent copyright notice. And they do have ordering instructions on their site. GPS interfaces are mostly NMEA 0183 standard (serial, 4800 baud). NMEA 0183 is currently version 2.30 dated March 1998. It is $60 to NMEA members and $125 to non-members. They'll happily mail you a copy upon receipt of a check or your credit card information.
