I saw an idea for a random number generator which used a 4-bit counter
who's outputs were hooked into a micro controller's port. to get the
random number, you just read the port. I was wondering, would the number
be more random if the counter is incremented at a higher frequency than
the micro controller, or at a lower frequency? also, Does anyone know of a
better method of generating random numbers, preferably w/o extra
hardware? thanks.
