I use the program HyperTerminal which is included in Win95-98. The settings I use are through whatever com port is free with no handshaking. I have to disconnect from the internet when I do this though. Hyperterminal does'nt cooperate with my modem. The hardware is a single chip interface: A Maxim MAX232. This chip takes a 5 volt power supply and generates all the required voltages for the rs-232 protocol. I connect to a DB-9 connector with three wires using only ground, transmit, and receive. I have achieved speeds of 19.2 kbaud with this setup. Good Luck Keith Causey
