I'm assuming RS485 would do here?  Or do you want I2C?  The problem I
have here is that I don't completely understand what you are asking;
Are these two PICs separated by 1 inch on the same PC board, or by tens
or hundreds of feet of cable?  More details always helps people to help
you, I get the idea some people are waiting until you give them enough
to suggest something.
