I'm curently working on a small robot which is controlled by
DC-motors using a optical-rotating-encoder-disc (resolution
200 tic's per revolution). Everything works fine, but sometimes
I notice that I've lost 8 pulses. EMC could be a problem but
this is almost excluded by the fact that it is always 8 and never
5,6,7 etc..  and EMC/co-incedence is never that reproduceable.

Does anybody know about sites or problems concerning the
encoder disc and it's possible problems ?
