I was able to get a couple of the MACH eval kits from Vantis with no problems. I
 bought them about 4 months ago (and still haven't spent as much time as I shoul
d playing with them!) and have used the software a few times. I talked to my rep
 and he said the software is NOT time limited and IS the full blown deal!!! (tak
ing after MCHIP, free development software). It comes with a nice socket, progra
mming header, software, and a few samples. The price of the chips are not too ba
d, The lower end MACH (1XX and 2XX) series you be in your price range!! Hope thi
