As I emailed to the person asking the original question, RF Solutions'
website says they are looking for US distributors, so I guess they have a
US system available.  The 418Mhz system costs about 16usd for a Tx/Rx pair
operating up to 2kHz, with a range of about 50m- not sure what they have
for international sales though...
