>HCT part, now that's good! >>From what I hear in Australia, there will only be ACT or better produced by >semi conductor manufactures within the next 2 years, unless some small >company makes the other stuff. Well that's what I here, does anyone hear the >same or any different? > >Dennis > I find that very hard to believe, as AC parts make much more EMI, and from experience that higher drive and/or speed is seldom needed. (The only times i have used AC so far is to make some weird but cheap and efficient DC/DC-converters from AC04 gates... Can be very good rail-rail drivers etc too :) especially the ones from National Semiconductor are strong) BTW, the ones with the T suffic are TTL compatible, and therefor do not have symmetric input levels, so they are more suspectible to be disturbed by EMI. So, stick to HC when possible, and AC if you need and can take that higher EMI. I dont think they will stop producing HC cirqiuits in many yuears to come. Or, they will make an alternative that is less noisy than AC. /Morgan Morgan Olsson ph +46(0)414 70741 MORGANS REGLERTEKNIK fax +46(0)414 70331 HLLEKS (in A-Z letters: "HALLEKAS") SE-277 35 KIVIK, SWEDEN mrt@iname.com ___________________________________________________________
