I've used them. They work for most applicatins. BUT Maxim does not call them low-cost for for no reason. To translate low-cost; make cheaper $$$ by cutting corners, lose performance, resolution, speed, and general funcionality. I had problems with the part losing configuration setup and some other things. It was either in a particular setup and or a resetting PD of the part, can't remember for sure right now. After working with some guy from maxim for weeks we found the problem to be in the max part. Thats when he told me that the 110/111 when cheaper version of of the 194. He went on to explain Low-Cost and what it really meant. It was a leason for me and the design. I have no problems using Max parts if they are right for the job, but I will never use any parts that say Low-Cost. -----Original Message----- From: John Miller To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Date: Wednesday, October 21, 1998 11:41 AM Subject: Anybody used MAX111 a/d? Has anybody used Maxims MAX111 +-14 bit a/d converter. I am interested in using it for a load cell application. I need 1oz resolution over 10lbs. Any other ideas for interfacing load cells?
