I've used the PicBasic compilers since they first came out. If you find the standard version too limiting you probably won't be happy with the Pro version either. The PRO version has many more features and added commands. It also allows programming easily beyond the 2k bank limit. It was designed to be compatable with the Basic Stamp 2 but also add more features but it really just expands on where the standard version leaves off. The standard version can do some of the PRO features but requires creativity not shown in the manual. I have both but because I've used the standard version for so long I still favor it over the PRO version for many of my projects. Based on feedback I've seen, most people are satisfied an probably won't part with there PRO version for less than what MELABs will charge you. MELABS does offer an upgrade for $199.
