Hi Greg > Anyone out there currently working on a PIC based Freq. Hopping Spread > Spectrum (FHSS) radio project? > > I'm interested in a transceiver design that operates in either the > 902-928 MHz or 2.4 GHz ISM bands I have just finished a comercial spread spectrum 2.4 GHz radio modem project. Power requirements: 16-80VDC <10W. Serial communication: Full duplex asynch RS232 1200-115200 bps (std 9 pin DSUB) with full handshake signals and receive and transmit buffers. Network protocol: CSMA or TDMA with ARQ. Point to point or up to 16 networks with 1 base and up to 255 remotes each. Radio: 100mW or 10mW (FCC part 15.247 and ETS 300 328). Range indoors 150-400m, 1500m line of sight Outdoors (greater than 15km with gain antenna). Size: 135*146*60mm rugged aluminum case. Well, actualy we have used a OEM radio modem module from Digital Wireless Corporation called WIT2400. Check out there wep page: www.digital-wireless.com This module contains all the radio parts and a synchronous/asynchronous cmos level serial interface. And Yes, I have included a pic in the design. A 12c508 to detect a break on the serial line for more than 20ms which puts the radiomodule into configuration mode. The configuratin mode can then be entered with a 3 wire RS232 connection (TX, RX and GND). The configuration mode normaly also needs DTR or a power on/off sequence. -------------------------------------------- Ruben Jvnsson AB Liros Elektronik Box 9124, 200 39 Malmv, Sweden TEL INT +4640142078 FAX INT +4640947388 ruben@2.sbbs.se --------------------------------------------
