Personally, I have an older 16bit windows version of OrCad. Never had much of a problem with it (did hang on my old 486 once and while), but here at work we use ViewLogic for schematic capture and Cadnetix (with the Cooper-Chan autoroute engine). Viewlogic has lousy support, but one nice thing is that the files are ascii, and so I can go in with my editor and do global search and replace, or do grep on a group of files to find signals.
