MPASM requires that it's output .HEX file has the same name (first 8
     chars) as the intput .ASM file.  If you've named the top node in your
     project something other than the name of our source file, then the
     file tha MPASMWIN builds will not be found.

    Hi all!
        Anyone that have ever got the message "Mplab is unable to find the
output file xxxxx.hex , Build failed" when trying to build a project with
just one source node (xxxxx.asm) ??
        I've followed the tutorial for new project with one source step by
step but always get the same result.
        I'm using the mpasmwin.exe that comes with MPLAB3.40 and it really
seems to generate the corresponding xxxxx.hex file (it's there if you look
with the explorer) but don't know why Mplab does not see it. I also use the
same directory in which Mplab is installed.
        Thanx in advance...
