I have used those iron-on sheets.  I believe the company is called Dyna-Art.
They can work pretty well if the pc board is smaller that the iron.  The
company also sells a heater/press for about $200USD that I purchased.  It
seems to work better but still leaves much to be desired.  You can, however,
make useable circuit boards with it.
