Hi everyone,

I want to take an autmotive type Mass Air Flow  (MAF) sensor and interface it
with a pic 16F84 or a stampII. I want to implement this on a vehicle that has
no MAF . I know a MAF sensor uses a hot wire anemometer which measures the
current required to keep the wire at a stable temperature. The output is  0-5
v representative of the mas air flow. I am not sure if the MAF itself provides
the logic to sustain a stable temperature is in the MAF electronics or
controlloed by the on board ECM. The MAF connection is 5 or 6 wires unlike the
3 wire MAP sensors. I would like to interface and use the MAF 0-5v signal. So
I need a stand alone system.

Does anyone know how to interface with this sensor or point me to a source.
That would be great help.
