Just installed mplab 3.99.06 in a win95 environment. If I assemble with the default DOS assembler for the first time after opening mplab everything is OK but if I assemble again immediately after the first assembly I get a windows message warning me that something is trying to use something that is already being used and win95 crashes resulting in scan disk coming up with disk errors. So I tried mpasm for windows. When run everything seems OK, it will assemble several times without the win95 warning. But the small window showing the assembly progress disappears to soon for me to see if there were any final errors or warnings so I Took out a ; on a comment line I.e. ;**** comment and assembled again waiting for the error to be pointed out to me. But it wasn't, I assembled again and still the assembly said no errors, this time I changed clrf to clr and assembled, no errors reported so I changed clr to cl and assemble and still no errors reported, I don't at the moment want to use the DOS assembler to check the above COs it keeps crashing win95 and giving me disk errors. Is it me or is asm for windows missing something. , , , , The Samaratans........They bring a smile to an empty heart.
