All you have to do is connect 5 wires from the EPIC programmer to the appropriate pins on the chip. If you look at the programming specs at www.microchip.com, you can figure out which pins need to go where. You can use the 10 pin IDC header on the EPIC to get the signals from it. Only 5 of the 10 pins are needed, but I can't remember which off hand. Again, if you lok at the programming specs for the 16C84, you can use an ohmmeter to figure out which pin is which signal.
