>Hi all, >I recall a past discussion of the above Tek scopes where several (?) >people mentioned owning one and I want to make sure they are aware of >the recall (Tek mentions things like "...risk of serious injury or >death..."): >http://www.tek.com/Measurement/programs/tds200-recall/index.html This is interesting, although I believe it's a bit drastic to tell people to stop using their instruments because of it. It may, of course, be true that one could be seriously injured if this fault has occurred, but I believe you have to be quite stupid to manage to make this fault happen in the first place. I assume that a substantial amount of current has to flow in the ground lead for the PCB trace to burn open. I don't know, but I would guess several amps. If you don't have a clue as to what you are going to measure, then please use a multimeter first to make sure it's safe, or use an isolation transformer on the power. But I guess Tek has to be on the safe side to avoid being sued by stupid individuals. -Oyvind
