  For munitions, I always liked R. Heinlein's talking grenade idea (pull
the pin, throw it, it announces "I am a bomb, three, two, one, <wham>".

  For a "time bomb", wouldn't it make sense if it only beeped or clicked
for the first few seconds, after that the LED just stayed lit, so the
person arming it knows it's armed, after that it's moot;  if you see the
LED on, you know to run like your life depends on it, IF you know it's a
bomb that is!?!

  Do any of us WANT to think like terrorists, really, though?!
